Le Center was another district that came up short at the polls in their effort for a new referendum.808 residents voted on the operating levy referendum, rejecting it by a margin of 88 votes.Co-superintendent Matt Helgerson says they'll have to run one again soon... using plans that successful districts used this year.If it doesn't get passed, it could result in changes to some of the district's programming.Helgerson adds, "We know it's tough. We know the county has been hit hard with unemployment and whatnot. We understand that, we just, we know that we have a duty to out kids and that's what it comes down to."The district currently has a 250 dollar and another 350 dollar levy.Last night's referendum would have replaced the 250 dollar levy with a 650 dollar operating levy. The 250 dollar levy will expire in 2011.
