And that is our top local story this mid day...Hello everyone, thanks for joining us, I'm Lisa Cownie...Off-year elections have fewer races... but there's still plenty to talk about in our area. One of those ... the mayoral race in St. Peter. That's where we begin our coverage from last night's election.Going for his third term, incumbent Tim Strand defeated Eli Hoehn (Hane) by a vote of 964 to 499. A 66 percent to 34 percent margin. And here's what the mayor had to say upon hearing the news of his re-election, and his plans for the next two years.Tim Strand says, "We've got a lot of good plans for the city. The biggest one right now is finishing up the Highway 169 project and developing our business community, as a result of that development, and we want to progress from that. And that's our biggest goal: we want to help our business community and the city grow."
