DNR Relocating Offices

Minnesota's economic woes are making the Department of Natural Resources be more resourceful. Waters and Ecology have moved out of their offices located on Victory Drive. The workers have moved into a possibly more fitting environment at Minneopa State Park.... into a cabin. Southern Regional Director Mark Matuska says some employees will be closer to the areas they serve, however it might mean more driving for others. Matuska says, "Will there be some mileage increases? There might be, but when you don't have to pay a lot of those lease costs on an annual basis, you are only going to save the state money." Matuska believes the new office at Minneopa will see increased traffic. He says Sibley State Park in Willmar will also house some of the consolidated offices.
