Tired of paying a lot of money for a burger at expensive restaurants?One big - name restaurant chain is trying to do something about that.Here's Claire Leka with your Money Watch report.Automakers hope the worst is behind them.They reported their sales here in the u-s fell again in June -- but nowhere near the 30- to 40-percent declines of recent months.Chrysler, down 16 percent.Toyota, 14 percentFord, just four percent.But gm showroom sales actually rose... Ten percent.Are you out of work? Kmart wants to help.In an unusual move, the retailer has launched a discount program for laid off workers in states like Michigan with sky high unemployment.Kmart will offer registered unemployed workers a "smart assist savings" card, valid for six months, entitling them to 20 per cent reductions on Kmart's private label goods.And a new report out shows big cities are gaining population in this recession-- while suburban growth is slowing down.One reason-- people are fed up with high gas prices and long commutes.The census bureau's 2008 figures show cities of a million people or more grew by one percent.New York, Los Angeles and Chicago all posted big gains.McDonald's is beefing up its menu with a new angus burger.
