Franken Thanks Supporters

Senator-elect Al Franken turned a celebration rally at the state capitol into an extended thank-you to his supporters.Franken told the crowd that when his spirits fell during nearly eight months of recounting and legal fighting, he drew strength from the volunteers who worked for him.Franken finally prevailed Tuesday when the Minnesota Supreme Court rejected Republican Norm Coleman's legal challenge and Coleman conceded.He tells Minnesota Public Radio he expects to serve on the Judiciary committee, where he'd play a role in the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
